We took our learning outside today and spent time looking for objects beginning with a certain sound.
Despite the wintery weather our hardy P1/2 class had an outdoor learning session with Aigas Field Centre this morning. We learned about Scottish wildlife and about some animals that are now extinct. We then learned about different animal homes and had the chance to see if we could use mud and sticks to build a dam just like a beaver does.
There is a real feeling of Spring in the Air and this afternoon the children helped Mr Clark plant potatoes in the school garden. We will be starting to plant bulbs in our own P1/2 outdoor area this week, if anyone has any summer flowering bulbs that they are no longer needing we would love to plant them in our pots.

This afternoon is our final after school chess session for this term. Our last lunchtime session will be this Thursday.
Chess WILL resume next term, on Tuesdays 30th April, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th May, 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th June.
Please note, chess club will NOT run on Tuesdays 23rd April or 2nd July.
